Detailed answer
By the nature of this section, more spoilers follow. We're doing our best to provide you with as much information as possible while minimising the story spoilers.
Dog
Aatmi, the protagonist of Sisu, travels by horseback with his dog, a bedlington terrier. The dog is targeted by the Nazi antagonists of the film a number of times, but ultimately survives.
Notably, the main antagonist fastens a live grenade to the dogs collar, however Aatmi is able to free it of this danger in the nick of time. Both of them are thrown by the blast of the grenade, but the dog is unharmed.
A pair of german shepherds are set on the hero, however he is able to escape without harming them in any way.
Horse
A horse is killed after stepping on a landmine. The death, by explosion, is brutal but swift. However, the gruesome remains of the horse are shown at length and in detail.
What is Sisu
Released in 2022, Sisu is an action movie set in Finland towards the end of World War II. The word sisu is a Finnish term meaning "strength of will" or "perseverance through adversity".
The movie, starring Jorma Tommila, was directed by Jalmari Helander is often compared to John Wick. Though I don't think that's a very good comparison. Check out this Sisu movie review if you're interested in learning whether I think it's worth watching.
